Ikebana Workshop @ Sophiensæle

I had originally planned to announce a workshop in collaboration with snake garden, but this will be on hold for now. It is still coming, so please stay tuned. Meanwhile, I was invited to lead a workshop at the international performance festival “Never Work” at Sophiensæle on June 23rd. I’ve been told that the tickets are almost sold out as I write this, but I wanted to make an announcement anyway.

I’m truly grateful for this opportunity. Thank you to Steff and Jeanne at Sophiensæle for finding my workshop and inviting me. For this special occasion, I asked my favorite ceramic artist in Berlin, Verena de Hoog, to create special ceramic vessels. Verena kindly agreed to do this despite her extremely busy schedule. My go-to flower shop, Kiezblume in Friedrichshain, is helping me source the flowers and plants. My dear friend Lydia, who I’ve known for my entire time in Berlin, will also be helping me, as this will be a group of 15 participants. Meanwhile, I discovered that there is a specific region in Japan known for producing high-quality kenzan, so I asked my sister to ship me a bunch of them. I’m very grateful that she is helping me from Japan with so much support.

I’m deeply thankful for everyone’s time and help. I’m being reminded again that I’m not doing this alone.
